Objetivos
Abranger as principais teorias e padrões biogeográficos e os métodos utilizados na reconstrução histórica de padrões de distribuição; Percepção da biogeografia como uma ciência interdisciplinar, possibilitando compreender o estudo da distribuição dos organismos no espaço (fatores ecológicos) e no tempo (fatores históricos), através da análise; Discutir e interpretar as principais teorias e métodos de inferências biogeográficas;

Introdução a Biogeografia; Padrões de Distribuição; Diversidade de espécies; Padrões no passado; Geografia física e o funcionamento da Terra; A importância de ilhas e ambientes insulares; Biogeografia analítica; Biogeografia Aplicada à Conservação.
